![]() Tokyo, Japan 1 Sailor Moon ran down the alley after the golden streak that preceded her. Quickly scanning the area, she continued by leaping up onto an arcade roof. He was just ten meters ahead of her, if only she could catch up. The golden streak began to slow down and formed itself into a golden armored centurion. He spun around, the golden armor glinting in the moonlight. In his hands he held an intricately designed bronze gladius. She couldn't see his face as the visor on his centurion-like helmet prevented any specific details to be said about it. Grabbing her scepter out of nothingness, Usagi cried out "Moon Scepter Halation!" and she pointed it at him. At precisely the same time, he raised his sword and the blade opened up to shoot a green burst of energy that hit the energy being release by the scepter. This caused an explosion that could be heard for kilometers. The energy caused such a noise that the Arcade they stood on crumbled, leaving both momentarily stunned. The rubble temporarily covered the other Senshi, who had followed the other two centurions down the block to here at precisely the wrong moment. The three centurions paused and noticed the damage, realizing the threat had been downsized to one. "Sartinaku," one of the centurions slapped the original on the back of his armor. "Kartinagan, alle tare Tagujin." Then he pointed at Sailor Moon. A solitary rose flew down in front of the centurions, surprising them. "Kangae-nai," ("I don't think so.") came a harsh, tenor voice from a caped Tuxedo-Kamen. "Sailor Moon Ima!" ("Now Sailor Moon.") he cried and flipped over the centurions and in her direction. "Hai!"("Right!") she replied at the same moment that one of the centurions shot Tuxedo Kamen with his sword. There was a groan and his limp body landed between Sailor Moon and the centurions. A loud Crash came from behind them as Sailor Jupiter blew the remains of the building that lay atop them into sub-atomic particles. Without pausing, the three centurions ran towards Sailor Moon, grabbing Tuxedo Kamen and leaped up grabbing ahold of a vehicle that was just becoming visible. The black aircraft slid back into nothingness, and disappeared in the night sky. Chapter One: Override & Robyn Cranbrook BC, Canada Robyn looked into the next room, she could see the still form of her friend Override sitting there. His shoulder length black hair just barely covering the shoulders of his blue sleeveless shirt. He liked to cross his legs in the typical "Yoga" style when he did this. It gave the clueless 2 the idea that he was actually meditating. She knew the truth of what he was doing; he was actually net surfing telepathically. She really didn't quite understand his ability to do that, even though he had explained it several times to her. His back was to her at this point, so she couldn't see his face right now. She had figured out how to know what type of things he was doing by scanning his facial expressions casually. But she had to walk to the other side of him, where it would be noticeable that she was looking at his face. Taking a sip of her pop she looked around the rest of the room. Lucky's Bar and Grill was not too busy today. The few regulars were all that were here today. There was a tap on her shoulder from Override's direction. Quietly she looked back around. He wore his shades now, which meant business. "A friend of mine from Japan needs our help." He said with an amused smile. "Who?" "Her name is Mizuno Ami." He looked at her. "A friend of hers, a good friend, was kidnapped. She was able to track them to Colorado somehow. I am the closest person she knows to that area so she e-mailed me for help. She and her friends are on their way here now, by plane." He looked around, to make sure no one was listening "You'd like her friends, theyâre..." he thought for a second. "...different." Ami looked up from her laptop. She hoped that Aetolus-san got the message. They still had 7 hours before they landed. Rei-chan didn't believe that they needed any help to track down Mamoru-san. Use the computer and I'll use my fire reading and we'll find him quickly. Rei had claimed. It wasn't until Ami pointed out that the only one of them fluent in English was Minako-chan, and she didn't know the region's customs or beliefs. Ami had never been in an argument with the other senshi before, but after a small argument, she had convinced them to ask for help, from one friend. She was not personally very sure of her English, and so she sent her message to Aeolus-san in Japanese. Another thing that came to her mind was would he help them? She had never met him personally and knew that some people were completely different on-line than they were in reality. His on-line personality was a soft caring guy who she could talk to about anything; was he the same way in real life? She wasn't even sure how she would know who he was if he did decide to pick them up at the airport, and help. She assumed that he was Japanese, because he spoke the language well and knew all the customs and history, but there was doubt in her mind; after all his net-handle was Greek. Quietly she looked over at Minako-chan who asked "Nervous?" Ami, surprised that she did so, answered, "Yes." Minako, obviously trying not to let the others comprehend the topic asked, "Just out of curiosity, do you know a lot about this guy?? Ami, feeling a bit better about her English, answered "I don't know. I speak to him on Internet only." "Eigo yoshi shite iru."("Your English is good.") "Domo." ("Thanx") The girls where quiet for the rest of the trip. Ami began to wonder how the others had managed to get past their parents to come here, or if they even know yet, but she decided to not mention it. Instead she decided to take a look on the net, check to see if Aetolus had responded yet. She opened the laptop, and entered her e-mail. There was a message from Aetolus that read simply "Itsu tsuku?" ("When do you arrive?") She clicked on the reply button and began to type. Override glanced out the window at the sky. It was a cloudless day in the city of Denver. The airport was just recently upgraded to an international airport, due to the increase in the international tourists of the area. He personally couldn't see what Colorado had that Canada didn't other than fighting. He was now wondering if Ami and the others would remember him from the moon or if they had all of their memories back yet. "Flight 153 from Japan is now landing," an announcer's voice came over the intercom. Override muttered to himself as the plane came into view and approached the runway. Looking over at Robyn he stood up and pointed at the window, "They're here," and walked over to the doorway to watch for them, to be quickly joined by Robyn. "Do we know what they look like?" Robyn asked curiously. "Yep." Override passed her a page he had printed up earlier. She looked at the page; it was a picture of five girls whom she recognized. "The Princesses?" she asked. Override just nodded. "But I heard the Moon was wiped clean of all traces of life." She stated more cautiously. "I guess they where just lucky." He smiled. "Cause that's them, and here." He passed her a Japanese newspaper with a picture of five heroines in short skirted sailor fukus on the front page. Robyn looked at it. She didn't know any Japanese, but she knew he would explain if he felt it needed it. "They call themselves the Sailor Senshi. Three guesses who they are." Before Robyn could react, five girls came piling through the door with a ton of other passengers. Ami-chan was more beautiful than he remembered, but then again, a thousand years had passed. "Mayowa-nai" ("Don't get lost!") A brunette gai-jin girl told the rest. "Issho ni tomaro!" ("Stick together!") A Japanese girl with short hair stated. "Doko korewo ni au?" ("Where are we supposed to meet this guy anyway?") A blonde whined. "Awareppol suru no wo yamero!" ("Quit whining already!") A Japanese girl spat. "Ni Damaru!?("Shut up you two!") A second blonde cried. Override looked at Robyn, gave a quirky shrug, then stepped towards the group. "Mizuno Ami ureshii." ("Welcome Ami Mizuno") The troupe jumped then slowly turned around. "Aetolus?" the shorthaired Japanese girl asked. "Hai, shikashi watakshi wa Override noryoku" ("Yep, but you can call me Override.") He responded and removed his shades letting them see his eyes, then he looked at Robyn. "Robyn-chan niphon-go hanasu-nai" ("Robyn doesn't speak Japanese.") "Mizuno Ami, this is Robyn Goodfellow. Kare wa Robyn-chan." He introduced her to the group. "This, kare wa, Usagi-chan," one blonde haired gai-jin girl with pigtails was indicated, "Makoto-chan," the tall brunette gai-jin bowed, "Rei-chan," the other Japanese girl nodded. "And...." "Minako," the second blonde girl stepped forward and shook his hand "Nice ta meetcha Override." She spoke with a British accent. "How was the flight? Anatatachi hiko ga suki de aru?" "Migoto na. Fine" Ami responded. Ami looked at the man before her; he was not what she had expected. He seemed to be well versed in Japanese, but spoke it with an ancient accent. He had a mysterious charm that radiated from him. He was a head taller than her and his entrancing soft brown eyes had just been revealed by his removing his pair of shades from his slim face. His black hair was long enough to touch his the shoulders of his green bomber jacket, which now housed his shades. "If it's ok, we would like to begin looking for our friend right away," Minako-chan asked snapping Ami back into reality. "Sure." ®tolus looked over at the group of girls, placing his shades back on, he pulled some pages from his jacket and stepped towards Rei. "Reibai no?" ("Are you the psychic?") She looked startled at this, then responded "Hai." ("Yes") He handed the pictures to her. "Dono ni mieru?"("Which looks like the right place?") While Rei glanced through the pictures, he turned his glance to Ami, which ran a chill down her spine. "I looked up places in Colorado that sounded like the one you described to me over the E-mail." She nodded, understanding. "Shall we go?" Robyn took the picture that Rei chose and looked at it. "Cheyenne Mountain Colorado." She smiled. Ami looked at the small lady, and noted that her hair was about as long as Rei's, and that she stood about 170 cm tall. She also wore a pair of light absorbing black shades that parted her hair just enough to barely reveal her pointed ears. The group walked over to the baggage pick-up and gathered the scant belongings they had brought, including the two cat carrying cases which held Luna and Artemis.
Minako-chan looked at the rest and translated, "Donata eigo-ga ikuraku hanasu?" The response was pathetic; Ami responded with a "Watashi" ("Me"), Rei and Makoto answered quietly with "Sukoshi" ("A little bit.") Usagi who had failed that class 4 times answered embarrassed "Iie" ("No"). "Well that means we got some work to do." Override jumped in. "Anatawa tetsudatte." Robyn discretely slid a CD into the stereo. Override smiled as the familiar music of techno-bagpipes filled the car. Override, along with the help of Minako and Ami began to teach the rest some basic "Survival English" as he put it, including phrases like: "Where is the bathroom?" and "There is a squash in your shoe." At least that's what Usagi kept saying. Robyn's Japanese progressed in a similar fashion including phrases like: "Furoba wa doko desu ka?" ("Where is the bathroom?") And "Anata hani-ke wa himo de nai" ("Your nose hair is untied"). By the time they had been taught these useful phrases, they had reached the West Mountains, one of which was Cheyenne Mountain. Everyone crawled out of the car all mindboggled with new vocabulary. Override and Robyn walked to the back of the Mini-van and removed some hiking packs. Usagi looked up, and, still in a daze, asked, "Hoteru wa doko desu ka?" ("Where's the hotel?") Which Override translated for Robyn, then paused while he and Robyn looked at each other and laughed. Passing her a pack, Override stated. "Kore wa kaban ni" ("In the bag"). The other girls accepted their bags and looked to their two new friends for guidance. "Let's go." Robyn stated chirpily and began to hike up the side of one of the mountains. Rei followed her and was accompanied by Usagi, Minako and Makoto. Override stopped, removing his shades and began to talk to Ami, as Rei and the rest hiked up the mountain. "Mamoru-kun anata boyufriendo?" ("Was Mamoru your boyfriend?") "No," she answered, then looked at the others; "Usagi-chan and Mamoru-san are a couple." She chose her words carefully. "We'll find him," Override stated, relieved. "Robyn and I never leave anything incomplete." "Arigato," she stated and sighed. "Thank you." Looking up at him she asked "Anata wa watakshitachi tasuke naze?" ("Why are you helping us?") Override looked up at the sky for a second, "I don't know, watakshi wakarimasen-nai, anata wa tazuneru-ta." ("You asked me.") "Thank you," she responded and looked at the mountainside. "Are you and Robyn-chan a couple?" she asked cautiously. Override looked at Ami, and smiled. "Robyn-chan, and me? No, just good friends, like you and Mamoru-san." The two continued up the mountain, eventually catching up to the rest as the night caught them. Robyn had removed her shades and was already setting up camp. Two of the three tents had been set up already and Robyn had started the campfire. "What took you two so long?" she asked as the two came into view. "Just talking," he answered. Then to change the subject, "so, what do we have to eat, I'm starved." Ami joined the other girls in her shy way and helped them with the last tent. "Je'n sais pas," Robyn stated. "You're the cook tonight." "Great," he moaned, then dropped his pack and began to rummage through the contents. "Let's see... " he mumbled to himself. "Ah, here we go." He hauled a couple packs of hot-dogs out and dropped them on the ground as he retied his bag. "Grab some sticks, we're havin' hot dogs." The girls seemed to understand the concept and each grabbed a branch from a nearby tree and Override passed each of them his knife in succession. Usagi ended up cutting herself, but that was easily taken care of by Robyn and her first aid kit. Rei demanded on only having veggie-dogs, but that was simple enough to fix as Override had a pack of those as well in his pack. Once the sticks where sharpened they began their weenie roast, and Robyn began to tell ghost stories which Override translated for Usagi and the other English impaired. The night sky was almost pitch black now, being a new moon, the only light was coming from the fire, and the stories where more effective for this reason. Usagi stood and walked over to the shadows alone during the stories and began to stare out into the darkness. Robyn looked at Override in a curious way; the look on her face asked, "Is she OK?" Override looked over at Ami who just stated, "She misses Mamoru-san." Override began to stand to go over and comfort her when Minako stated, "It's probably better if we leave her alone for a bit, she needs time alone." Both Robyn and Override nodded and Robyn began to continue with her stories, while Override translated. The group watched as Usagi wandered into the darkness. "Should I go after her?" Robyn asked "No, she should be all right. There's not too much danger around." Override answered. "If she's gone for too long I'll go get her." "You've got her on GPS, don't you?" Robyn gave that quirky smile, as though she had just caught on. Override nodded. The night continued on, and the girls began to tell their ghost stories, when Override's head snapped to attention. Everyone looked at him in surprise, "What's wrong?" Ami, Minako, and Robyn asked in the same instant. "There was a flash of energy on the GPS and Usagi disappeared." He stated quickly not realizing that only one of them understood what he meant. Then Rei's face gave a realization, "Anata wa no reibai!" ("You're psychic as well!") Robyn looked at Override who had just begun to jog through the wood of the mountain. The girls each followed. A short distance away the group came upon one of the centurions fighting Sailor Moon. He had equaled out her attack and had the advantage on her at the moment. The girls, who saw that Sailor Moon was loosing badly, seemed to decide that their secret was not worth losing their leader over. "Mercury Crystal Power- Make up!" "Mars Crystal Power- Make up!" "Jupiter Crystal Power- Make up!" "Venus Crystal Power- Make up!" The girls each raised a pen in the darkness and within a massive flash of light, they where replaced by the Sailor Senshi, who proceeded to kick royal centurion butt. When the two cats caught up to the group, Robyn and Override picked them up to keep them out of harm's way. Override and Robyn sat back, not surprised by the revelation, but stunned by the bright flash of energy caused by the transformations. "Shining Aqua Illusion!" Sailor Mercury spun around spraying forward water and freezing the sword that the centurion held. "Jupiter Sparkling Wide Pressure!" A ball of electricity flew from sailor Jupiter's hands and nailed the centurion in his armor, paralyzing him. "Ima Sailor Moon!" ("Sailor Moon now!") Mars called to Sailor Moon who pulled out her Scepter, then Mercury called "Tachidomaru!" ("Stop!") Sailor Moon stopped "Ami-chan?" "Kore wa mamuru doko ni iu." ("He maybe able to tell us where Mamoru is"), she suggested. "Mercury yoroshii kangae." ("Good call Mercury.") Sailor Moon responded. Click Click Click Click Click Click Click They all spun around to find that they were surrounded by a good 20 soldiers with their guns pointed at them. "Don't move!" one of the soldiers commanded. "Drop your weapons, or we will fire." "Guys, they're girls in miniskirts, do you see any weapons on them?" Override asked sarcastically, before he was jabbed threateningly with the barrel of an assault rifle. "You! Blondy! Drop the stick!" A gun was pointed at Sailor Moon and her scepter. "She doesn't speak English," Override mentioned. For this the butt of an assault rifle smacked him in the gut. Sailor Mercury refrained from moving over to help him for caution of the guns "Sailor Moon shaku otosu," Override wheezed, as the air was knocked out of him. ("Sailor Moon drop the scepter.") She did as told and dropped the scepter not sure as to what else to do. Then she waited. "Let's go." The soldiers herded them through the woods in the dark. "And don't try anything strange." A soldier in the back picked up the scepter, and another tossed the unconscious centurion over their shoulder. The Senshi followed the soldiers who had the cats now and the scepter. Sailor Mercury and Robyn helped Override to walk. After a 2-kilometer walk, they came upon a road where they hiked up to a bunker embedded inside the mountain. "Where are we?" Robyn asked. "None of your business," one soldier stated. "Oh..." she said, "...a secret military base." Override was managing on his own now and with little help from the two girls he managed to keep pace. The group was forced into the bunker and into a prison cell. Footnotes 1 Translation of Japanese phrases is in Italics. Translation of other Languages is Underlined.
